COACHING STAFF

Aftering finishing her first season as a head coach on the Hilltop, Makenzy Johnson will be entering her third season in 2025 with the Topper Volleyball Team. Johnsons took over the program in 2024 after being a graduate assistant for the Toppers in 2023. Johnson graduated from Virginia State University in 2022 where she was a setter for the volleyball team. She has helped coach club volleyball at Coastal Virginia Volleyball Club, Vantage Volleyball Club, Richmond Volleyball Club, and currently coaches for Ohio Valley Volleyball Company. Makenzy is pursuing her Master's of Education in Sports Leadership and Coaching at WLU and is the daughter of Derrick and Felcia Johnson.

After finishing her career at Shippensburg University, Katerina (Kat) Negron will be entering her first season with the Toppers in 2025. Negron is a Florida native and graduated from Shippensburg in December of 2024 where she was an outside hitter and defensive specialist for the Raiders. She has helped coach at Orlando Tampa Volleyball Academy during her summer and winter breaks. Kat is pursuing her Master’s of Education in Sports Leadership and Coaching at WLU and is the daughter of Harry Negron and Maran Diaz.
